Beautiful brands deserve sites to match. Graham and Green provide their customers with meticulously designed, lovingly crafted furniture. We worked closely with them, to make sure their website reflects and perpetuates this level of experience.
Established in the early 1970s, Graham and Green’s story is one of family values and rich quality that doesn’t shy from eccentricity. These strong family values are still very much at the heart of the company – they also pride themselves on nurturing relationships with suppliers and customers around the world, with many of their items being ethically produced in India, where designer Jamie visits regularly. Their rich history, working closely with international artisans, to craft unique designs translates into the high-quality products their customers so love – from this classic chest of drawers, to mirrors and leather pouffes, that have also become synonymous with their brand.
Where they were
When we first met with husband and wife team Jamie and Lou, along with Gareth the Head of Ecommerce, back in 2017, the Graham and Green site was on the Magento 1 platform, and lacking in user experience features that you’d hope for from such a high-end lifestyle brand. Their mobile offering was non-responsive, and with mobile becoming an increasingly used device for research and purchasing, they knew this was a priority.
Overall, they knew their site needed modernising, to be frictionless and to drive customer conversion via seamless experiences. In their bricks and mortar stores, their pieces are intelligently showcased to demonstrate an aspirational vision, and their site needed to step up to match.
JH delivered a fully-responsive Magento 2 site, with an emphasis on customer experience. Not only are customers able to view their off-the-shelf products, but there’s also a bespoke upholstery offering too, where customers can customise their items to taste.
Integrations with third parties, such as hosting by Sonnassi and payment by Braintree were added, and we maintained, and improved upon the WordPress integration too, as they like to provide their customers with plenty of content to inform and inspire with their values and expertise.
Their brand story and visuals have been strong and loved by their customers for decades, and so this was never going to change: however, internally, as part of the project, their team created a beautiful brand guidelines book, to ensure cohesivity throughout. Our design team relished the challenge of infusing every touchpoint with this strong look, and incorporating story-telling into the journey.
Graham and Green had a clear vision – to vastly improve the journey for their customers: we delivered strategy, plans, and a project to exceed this vision, bringing to life their special furniture in a site that customers look forward to coming back to – and one which is already seeing results.
Our Head of Accounts, Janak Kika has this to say about the project: “Working with such an elegant family brand has been exceptional, their attention to detail and vision for the future has been very inspiring. It’s beena great collaborative effort in launching their new Magento 2 website.”
