We’re stepping into the shoes of a teacher
We’ve been helping with the web design unit of the Foundation degree since the beginning of this academic year and now JH designers are going to be leading lectures. Our lead Designer, Joseph Russell has been working with Lecturer Dwayne Codling to rewrite the unit to an industry standard and to appeal to students who have come from many different disciplines, including Fine Art, Photography and Broadcast Media.
The lectures aim to take the students back to the basics of web design and give them the opportunity to work on designing while still in class. We also want to give the students an insight into how a web agency works and the practices we use on a daily basis, so they can really get a feel for what a job in an agency is like.
Dwayne Codling said, “For me working with the professionals at JH has helped me to acquire first hand experiences of dealing with live client brief requirements. Also by showing me their processes they have helped me to appreciate the level that will be required by students wanting to work in the creative sector.”
This will be the first time the Web Design unit has had industry professionals in to front lessons.
