JH is fundraising for Code Your Future this Christmas!

We’re incredibly excited to announce that we have teamed-up with Code Your Future this Christmas, a not-for-profit organisation that supports refugees and disadvantaged individuals with the dream of becoming developers, through providing fully-funded coding courses. 

As the old adage goes; Christmas is a time for giving. And with Christmas just around the corner, we wanted to live by this motto and participate in an initiative, one that aligned with our own values as a company. We think Code Your Future embodies this perfectly!

Over the years, JH have supported change in our industry by funding and supporting some fantastic local initiatives, such as Project Function and Women in Tech. 

However, as an ecommerce agency that strives to do more, we felt we were socially responsible for partnering with a not-for-profit that epitomizes our own vision for the future of development and technology; limitless opportunities for everyone, from all walks of life. 

Code Your Future is challenging the very notion of what it means to be a developer, making coding courses available to individuals who wouldn’t ordinarily have access to education in this area due to lack of funding, support and opportunities. 

They launched their first cohort of students back in 2016 in London, and have since expanded into Manchester, Glasgow, Rome and Medellin. Each programme CYF run is taught by a team of experienced developers, offering both technical and soft-skills training to ensure the students have the much needed support required to pursue a career in the tech industry following completion of the course.

Initially, JH donated what we would usually spend on festive gifts and activities to Code Your Future – a total of £2,000. Longer term, we hope to be working closely with the team and the students there, offering internships and opportunities to graduates from the course.
